Well, here’s a story that will raise your hopes to the heavens! Enjoy!
Hi Mark!
Some good news: While I seem to be constantly immersed in my own trouble bubble, God reminds me of my main purpose. We were running late for VBS work at the church and had a graduation to go to as well.
As we were pulling out of our road onto the highway, we noticed an old Chevy pickup hooked to a trailer with a lawnmower on it, sitting on the shoulder of the road with its hood up. I told Dave, “We should at least offer to help; they are stuck and it’s hot.” (I was expecting to be told that all’s well and help is already on the way).
It was an elderly couple. The truck had overheated. It was going to have to be towed. As we explained that we’d be right back with our pickup truck to tow them, I handed them each a Chick tract. I told them we’d be back in about 7 minutes, and here’s something to read in the meantime.
When we got back, he was standing by the raised hood and she was in the truck crying. She told me, “He just looked at the tract and set it down.” She had been praying for his salvation for decades, but his heart was too hard. He was angry at God for taking his daughter at a young age many years ago. I tried to console her, and we exchanged salvation testimonies. We talked for a while. Evidently, Dave was conversing with him, too.
Then her husband walked over to us and said to his wife, “I have something to tell you. I just accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior!” He was teary-eyed, and she was astonished!!! She said, “I am 80 years old, and this is the biggest miracle I have ever seen in my life!!!” She looked at us and said, “And, I don’t even know you!!” That was May 20th. Yesterday, we delivered a Bible to him at his home inscribed with “Jesus Loves You” and his name. He is a district judge and still working!
Needless to say, God is in control, and someday, we will see it all from His all-knowing view. That was, honestly, the very last thing I would have guessed would happen that day. When all is said and done, all that matters is what we do for the Kingdom.
Bottom line: Jesus deserves what He so dearly paid for, and time is running short, moment by moment. Money comes, money goes; problems come, problems go; pleasures come, pleasures go; but time… just… goes………”

Proverbs 16:9
A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.
Let the Lord lead all the days of your life, and have fun following Him! You never know what doors He might be opening for you to walk through!
Until the nets are full,
P.S. A big shout out to those of you who send us your awesome witnessing encounters! When we see how God is using you, it always encourages us. Some of them are just so outstanding that we want to pass them along to our readers! Thank you for being faithful to share the gospel with others!
P.P.S. Are guns really the problem or could the problem be something else entirely?
