In life, it really isn’t difficult to figure out the right thing to do. Just read your Bible and obey it. However, I have let my mom know a few times there is another way to tell right from wrong. Watch what the world does or says, and go in the opposite direction. Most of the time, it will put you right in line with the Bible! Literally, that simple.

Questioning Homeschooling

Harvard-pic-400x-e

Recently, I saw an article about Elizabeth Bartholet, who is the Wasserstein Public Interest Professor of Law and Faculty Director of the Harvard Law School’s Child Advocacy Program. Here is the link to the article: https://harvardmagazine.com/2020/05/right-now-risks-homeschooling

As you read this article, you learn very quickly that she wants control. She wants the power to decide what your kids can and cannot learn. Wait a minute. Didn’t we just see a similar attempt at gaining control in the last couple of months with the Wuhan virus? Have you noticed anyone else out there who likes power and control and also loves wielding it? And have you noticed how they want more and more of that power? They seem to enjoy using it on those who don’t have it.

“‘From the beginning of compulsory education in this country, we have thought of the government as having some right to educate children so that they become active, productive participants in the larger society,’ she says. This involves in part giving children the knowledge to eventually get jobs and support themselves. ‘But it’s also important that children grow up exposed to community values, social values, democratic values, ideas about nondiscrimination, and tolerance of other people’s viewpoints,’ she says.”

What is Bartholet saying here? She is letting you know that it is the government’s job to educate your kids and not your job as parents.

One definition of educate is: “to develop the faculties and powers of (a person) by teaching, instruction, or schooling.”1 But this is not actually what she means. She means indoctrinate, which is “to instruct in a doctrine, principle, ideology, etc., especially to imbue with a specific partisan or biased belief or point of view.”2

You see, in order to indoctrinate someone correctly—meaning to get that person to truly embrace a partisan or biased point of view—you must remove and tear down the opposing point of view. You only teach them one side of the argument. You don’t let them decide between the two sides. What is the easiest way to move them toward that single point of view? Take parents out of the equation and put kids in government indoctrination centers. Again, very simple.

“‘The issue is, do we think that parents should have 24/7, essentially authoritarian control, over their children from ages zero to 18? I think that’s dangerous,’ Bartholet says. ‘I think it’s always dangerous to put powerful people in charge of the powerless, and to give the powerful ones total authority.’’’

https://harvardmagazine.com/2020/05/right-now-risks-homeschooling

Wow. This lady really hates you parents out there! But she doesn’t realize the irony of her statement. She thinks it is dangerous to put powerful ones (parents) in charge over the powerless (your children). She didn’t even see that she was talking about herself. She wants powerful educators like herself to be in charge of your children so she and others like her can indoctrinate them to think the way they do. It is really thinkers like her who are dangerous for you, your children, and all of society.

When you read the article, make sure to read some of the comments beneath it. Bartholet gets hammered for her statements, and rightfully so. Even some public school teachers are standing up for the rights of parents to homeschool in the comment section!

Here is another article about a homeschooling mom, who has ten children!! Do you think she loves or hates to homeschool her kids?

“‘I love having them with me all the time and seeing them learn and knowing what they are learning,’ said Courtney, who also teaches local kids at church Sunday school. ‘I can adapt the lessons to each child and I don’t have to make them sit for hours all day. I love how it’s flexible and the kids can run around outside or feed the lambs between lessons.’”

Trust me, I needed more time running around outside during my school years when I was a kid! You can keep the lamb, though!!

Educational Wardens

Prison Wardens 400x

Outrage over Bartholet’s comments were also expressed in a rebuttal article by Campus Reform:

“Reason Foundation Director of School Choice, Corey DeAngelis, told Campus Reform that this statement from Bartholet is ‘beyond parody,’ adding, ‘it’s unbelievable she doesn’t realize that using government force to ban homeschooling is the definition of authoritarianism.’”

https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=14743

Ah, Bartholet seems to have missed that point about the government being the authoritarian.

Also from the Campus Reform article,

“DeAngelis called out the professor on Twitter soon after the Harvard Magazine article.

“‘The elites are terrified that families are figuring out they can educate their own children at home,’ he wrote.

“He followed up with an observation about the illustration that Harvard Magazine ran alongside the article, which ‘shows a sad homeschool child imprisoned in a house while the other kids are outside playing. Notice the house is made of books, one of them being the Bible.’”

You see what they are doing here, don’t you? They are making parents out to be the prison wardens and kids to be the prisoners. And, of course, no one likes to be in prison, unless you are the one in charge.

But, as you can see, they just had to include the Bible as one of those “imprisoning” books. They don’t hide their bigotry much anymore. That article and her thoughts were really nothing more than an attack on Christianity and Jesus. We are fair game now in the end of days. They can heap anything on us and throw anything at us they want to, and we have to take it.

Who Owns Your Kids?

who owns your kids

They are also fearful, now that so many families have had a taste of homeschooling during these last few months of shutdown and have had a wonderful amount of time with their children, that parents might not want to continue with public education. If that were to happen, they wouldn’t be able to indoctrinate kids and drive them away from Christianity.

The horror of all of this isn’t over yet! You must listen to this short clip from one of your “betters.” He knows what is best for you and your kids. Listen and take note:

This Harvard professor actually says,

“The reason parent-child relationships exist is because the State confers legal parenthood.”

Trust me. This man has no clue how dangerous his beliefs are to you and your family. Or maybe he does know and that is the real problem. This man needs to be educated at some point in his life. Your rights come from God and not from the government.

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 1:7-9

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

The Homeschooling Edge

The list of verses could go on and on to show how it is the parents’ job to train up and teach their kids. God has made it very clear in the Scriptures. Do you see it His way?

One homeschool mom told me the following about the benefits of homeschooling her kids:

1-Arithmatic-

A friend of the ministry, who was homeschooled as a child, said this about homeschooling:

2-Arimatic_repaired-a

I was a high school teacher, back in the day. One of my students and I have kept in touch through the years. He and his wife now homeschool their kids. Here are some of his observations:

3-Arimatic-repaired

So many homeschooling parents have figured out what is in the best interests of God, themselves, and their children.

Even Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has weighed in on this issue:

“The risk to children is NOT from homeschooling. The risk is from radical leftist scholars seeking to impose THEIR values on OUR children.”

“This professor’s mission is simple: to further the destruction of the family unit. Her plan: substitute state power for parental love. For her, the corollary benefit is to drive Christian values out of public discourse under the guise of preventing ‘child abuse.’”

“This ivory-tower screed attacking parents who choose to dedicate their lives to educating their own children, often at significant financial sacrifice, is a reminder that we must all work together to protect civilization’s most successful institution: our families.”

Spelling It Out

Spelling-it-out

One thing to always remember is that throughout history, Satan has not, does not, and will never like children. Never. They are made in the image of God, and he hates God.

Government schools have never been the answer, unless you want to produce sheeple. The older I get, the simpler life becomes. The left hates you and your children. I hate to say it, but it is true. Never forget that.

Will any of you begin to homeschool, starting with the next school year? It might just be a great, eternal decision.

But one last note, and it is the irony of all ironies. Ready for this? Go back to the top of this newsletter and look at the image of the house under the first heading. Then look again at the graphic used in Bartholet’s Harvard Magazine article. Compare the books supporting the house. When the article first came out, they MISSPELLED the word Arithmetic on the spine of the book!!

Mr. DeAngelis’ tweet, shown in the Campus Reform article and found here (https://twitter.com/DeAngelisCorey/status/1251643237569265666), shows the original picture used in the article. Arithmetic is spelled wrong!! They changed it! They were getting ridiculed so badly online that they went back and changed the graphic and didn’t even put up a note explaining that it had been changed.

Trust me: I will take a homeschooled student in a spelling bee over a Harvard professor any day of the week!

Until the nets are full,
