Do you see opportunities to reach the lost everywhere you go? What about all the people you see in the places you find yourself? You don’t have to go far to find someone’s life to invest in. Sometimes, all they might need is just a little bit of your time. I think you will like how Bill and Carl invested some of their time with a man in need:
Mark,
I thought you might need some encouragement! Pastor Bill and I have been working with a homeless person. He came to Hot Springs and lost his vehicle because of a transmission failure. It was $3,000 to get his truck fixed. So, he sold the truck and started working for another rancher.
The rancher happened to be a Christian. The rancher had a trailer that he could live in for a while. But Steve was determined to make it right. He kept looking for jobs and interviewed at the VA. About a week ago, he got a full-time job there. He’s living out in the country with no transportation. So, I volunteered to pick him up for work and take him home when he got off.
Last Sunday, he talked to someone about baptism. So, Pastor Bill talked to him about baptism. In the photo, you see the results. Steve was already a Christian and was strong for Jesus Christ, yet he was homeless.
The main thing is that Steve didn’t give up. He was determined, because he wanted to stay here. He came from a warmer climate for sure, but he didn’t like the atmosphere created by this economy and being stirred by the current administration. That’s why he wanted to come to South Dakota.
He still doesn’t have a vehicle, but that’s not a problem if you have a very good attitude about Who provides for you, takes care of you, and keeps you safe. That would be Jesus Christ.
Enjoy the photos.
Carl
____________
I love the attitude of this homeless man, Steve. He’s trying to take responsibility for his life, and against all odds, he actually left a warmer climate to brave the brutal and harsh winter weather of South Dakota. That’s incredible trust in the Lord.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Forget the stock market and bitcoin. The best investment you will ever make is investing in the life of another human being. Today would be a great day to begin making deposits in people’s lives. God’s “dividends” in Heaven are second to none!
Until the nets are full,
P.S. These people are nuts. I mean, literally crazy. They think they can actually change the climate. And what are they using to “change” the climate? Fear, propaganda, and massive taxation along with some good, old-fashioned communism thrown in for good measure. Please pray for Al’s soul. He is one lost man.
