One reason why God has breathed His Word into existence is so that we will live wisely. It’s been said that wisdom is biblical truth applied. When we know the Word of God, obey it, and live by it, it leads to a heart of wisdom.
But the world wants to press us into its mold instead. It wants us to live by its principles and beliefs rather than by Truth:
Romans 1:22
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
1 Corinthians 1:19,20
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
Colossians 2:8
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:24,30
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. . . But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Psalm 90:12
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Everyone needs God’s Word to live correctly. Everyone needs wisdom, or we won’t stand a chance against the enemies of God. We need all the godly wisdom we can get for the days ahead.
Until the nets are full,
P.S. Parents, you want to be wise in 2020 as you train up your kids for careers. You don’t want them to be indoctrinated by the leftist Marxist culture that is so prevalent on many college campuses today. If there were ever a time to leave the university system behind, that time would be right now. There are tons of options out there for how to gain skills, build resumes, and land interviews without having to earn a degree.
