Another year has gone by, which means the coming year is a great opportunity to read the entire Word of God!
I read the Bible front to back every year. A friend of mine reads it front to back twice each year. There are different reading plans available that can help you go through the whole Bible during the next twelve months as well.
You would think that if the Creator of the universe authored a book, we would be excited to read it! I am still amazed by how many Christians that I have met through the years have never read their Bible from cover to cover.

Scott Adams does not believe in God, but he does think this lady is close to being bonkers. Why? Truth is not relative. Truth is truth by definition. You don’t get to have your own truth while the person sitting next to you has their own truth, and then the contradictions between you end up being truth! That does not pass the logic test.
Believe it or not, this is what they teach students in middle school, high school, and university. The world wants truth to be relative.
You may not know it, but there is a big battle going on between absolute truth and relative truth. So the Bible is true for me, and the Quran is true for them, and they are both “truth” because we both believe they are truth. No. Truth does not work that way.
John 18:38
Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
John 17:17
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
We have one standard of truth in our world today. It is the Holy Bible. Beliefs, thoughts, ideas, etc. come and go. Truth stands the test of time. God’s Holy Word has stood the test of time.
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
You are looking for approval from God and no one else.
1 Peter 1:24,25
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
Forever is a long time. There is one Book that will last for eternity. It is best to get to know it now and share it with as many people as you can. If you haven’t heard, the Word of God is absolutely life-changing!
Until the nets are full,
P.S. Funerals are often a time of reflection. People are thinking about life and death. Greg had a great idea for helping people to think about their own eternity at a funeral he recently attended.
We attended a funeral today of a sister in Christ and got the okay from the family to place the “Sands of Time” tract into the obituary handouts. It was a very hope-filled occasion hearing the salvation message preached from two pastors and from the deceased herself in the form of a hand-written letter to those who would be in attendance at her funeral.
Time is running out.
