Are you engaging with people as you are out and about? In the past week, I have met the following interesting people:
-
- A man who told me that his mom is a pastor.
- A man who told me he is a Christian but an LGBT Christian, who believes in Jesus.
- A man who is a stand-up comic who said he hasn’t sinned since he has gotten right with God. Now mind you, he is not born again. He doesn’t believe Jesus ever existed.
There is actually a common denominator between all three of these encounters. None of them accurately understand what the Word of God teaches. The more and more I talk with people, the more and more I find this is really the bottom-line issue. We have raised up way too many people who don’t have a clue what the Bible teaches.
There is only one way to solve that problem: teach your kids the Word of God! Simple. And if you weren’t taught the Word, get your nose in His Book every day.
That is the only way you are going to know the heart and mind of God, and it is how you can be equipped to answer the questions that people have.
Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
John 17:17
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
It is almost time for you and those you cross paths with to meet the Author of the Holy Scriptures. Keep pointing people to the only Book where they can find eternal life!
Until the nets are full,
P.S. Are you hungry? Make sure you chat with the person in line behind you!
Hi Mark,
I met you at Moe’s last week, and you gave me a copy of your book (One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven). That was definitely a “God moment” for me because I had no intention of going to Moe’s that evening. Thanks again for paying it forward for my meal.
I started reading it and had to stop to reflect. Everything I read took me down memory lane. I was that girl who spoke to everyone on the plane, in the store, and at the mall. I went from corporate America to chaplaincy to non-profit to a school teacher. I thought teaching would be “it,” and I’m now at that junction.
Thank you for sharing your book with me. I need to do the one thing I cannot do in heaven while time permits.
Thanks for making a difference in my life.
Margaret B.
