Yikes! Take a read for yourself.

70% OF EVANGELICAL CHRISTIANS IN AMERICA DO NOT BELIEVE JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD (Friday Church News Notes, November 26, 2021,  www.wayoflife.orgfbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143)

“According to a new survey from Probe Ministries, nearly 70% of ‘Evangelical Christians’ disagree with the Bible’s teaching that Jesus Christ is the only way to God. After affirming the following two statements―‘I made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ’ and ‘I will go to Heaven because I confessed my sins and accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior’―these same people said they would not try to convert someone to their religion. The top three reasons were: ‘They can get to Heaven through their different religious beliefs,’ ‘We shouldn’t impose our ideas on others,’ and ‘The Bible tells us not to judge others.’ This is a reflection of the gross biblical ignorance that exists in the vast majority of churches in America. Instead of serious Bible study and effectual prayer and holy pilgrim Christian living, there is rock & roll, conformity to the pop culture, an emphasis on self-esteem, and a wholesale rejection of biblical separatism. Even in James’ day, there were Christians who were friends of the world, and he gave the following recipe for revival: ‘Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up’ (James 4:8-10). America’s most desperate need is for pastors of James’ spiritual caliber and courage.

How do you think Peter and Paul would have responded to that survey?!

Goodness. Either we are living in biblically illiterate times or there are folks masquerading as Christians who just see getting “saved” as nothing more than a Get Out of Hell Free card.

2 Timothy 2:15

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Peter 1:10

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

It is a good idea to read your Bible front to back every year. It is important to soak your mind with the Word of God. You want to clearly understand what God says about faith and salvation. Study the Scriptures. Go deeper than you have in the past.

How do you plan to help people this year with the questions they have about God’s Word if you are not knowledgeable in the Scriptures?

P.S. We had a friend of the ministry share this with us after he witnessed to an atheist on Facebook. He said, “In Genesis, God said He created all the trees in the Garden of Eden. You can’t have an apple tree without a seed, and you can’t have a seed without an apple tree. Ask them where the apple tree came from. They have all the answers about evolution but none about fruit trees and where they came from.”
