Geraldine

Jan 6, 2024

I got hungry again. I was in no mood to prepare something to eat, so I decided to venture out and pick up something quick. Only one problem: I didn’t think I had done enough witnessing on this particular day. I have days like that. Do I beat myself up? Nope. So, on the way to get some grub, I decided to stop somewhere and do some chatting and planting of seeds.

When it is cold out, go inside. Malls, stores, restaurants, student unions, coffee shops, and laundromats are all good places to go. I stopped at this one laundromat and had a great talk with Larry. Very strong believer. Dealt with sleep paralysis his whole life. His mom finally put a Bible underneath his pillow, and he was able to sleep well. He mentioned that, sometimes, with those sleep events, he had some out-of-body experiences. That is what he told me. He knew that some of those encounters had a demonic element to them. I was about to say something, but he beat me to the punch. He said, “The only thing I have found when having these encounters is to use the name of Jesus.” The Name above every name is the only name to use in any and all situations.

Had a wonderful conversation with Geraldine. She was thankful for the blessing I gave her and the One Second After You… booklet to read. She wanted to know, “One second after what?” I had her turn to the first page, and her eyes got big when she saw the word die! She had a really strong faith in Jesus.

Then she told me, “Sir, you are an answer to prayer.” Apparently, the night before, she was praying to God that she wanted more courage to share her faith in Jesus with the lost. She wanted to be bolder, but she was shy. She stated that the encounter we had really encouraged her.

She loved to read, so I ventured out to my car and snagged a One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven book. When I came back in, I explained to her what it was all about. She was excited about the “Winning, Winning, Winning” chapter that explains how to break through the fear of rejection.

Yes, God is still in the prayer-answering business.

In the words of Noah Hutchings, “God is still on the throne, and prayer changes things.”

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Pray without ceasing.

Until the nets are full,

P.S. I met this family at a restaurant this week. They were sitting at a table near me, and I struck up a conversation with them. Their father had died five or six years earlier. So they were having a mom-and-sons dinner. They said they don’t do too many of them. I ended up sitting at their table for a while and talked about life. It was a lot of fun. Please pray for Sherri, Logan, and Liam. Nice folks, but the young men sure miss their  father.

P.P.S.
