Food Pantry 2024

Aug 25, 2024

When it comes to outreach, what kinds of opportunities is your church creating to reach the lost and needy? Merle and the gang at his church run a food pantry, and they always have some amazing encounters. Here’s one he sent in:

Recently, I gave your One Heartbeat Away book to one of our clients at our church’s food pantry in Ft. Myers. He was looking at the book on our Bible/tract table, and I could see that he was reluctant to take it. It turned out that when the time came for him to come back to our interview cubicle, I was the one whose cubicle was open. We talked, and it turned out he was saved and liked to share his faith. I mentioned that I had seen him looking at your book. He said he was looking at it, but he didn’t know if they were free. So, I went and got a copy for him. He was very pleased, to say the least.

By mistake, I ordered some One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven books. When they arrived, I realized my mistake. I hesitated a little but then figured out that God wanted me to buy them. We are back in Michigan now, but all of our interviewers in Ft. Myers have them to give away. One of our interviewers down there is an 80+ year-old southern gal with a heavy southern accent. When she saw the new books, she immediately asked if she could have one to read, ensuring that she would give it away when she was done reading it. The next week, she came over to talk to me, and she was so excited about the book. She loves your books and is a powerful witness for Christ.

Your brother in Christ,

Merle

We really need to be more outreach-minded. Come up with some ideas and present them to your pastor and deacons. See what you can come up with, and remember, even if they don’t use your ideas, you go ahead and step out of your comfort zone and get busy. Every Christian should be outreach-minded.

And Jesus with the woman at the well is the PERFECT example of that!

John 4:13-14

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Be bold!

Until the nets are full,

P.S. A great soul winner wrote to us after reading Monday’s newsletter and said, “PURE DYNAMITE QUESTIONS, MARK! Why haven’t I thought of that???

Keep asking good questions that get people to think!

P.P.S.  Ginny sent in a note saying she orders The Second Greatest Lie Ever Told booklet for a specific reason. She said, “I use the booklets The Second Greatest Lie Ever Told when I go down to the local jail. When any of the women ask for a Koran, I give them this booklet. This year, I’ve seen two ladies that started out asking for a Koran but then prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior after talking with them for a while.”

Our Second Greatest Lie booklets are 20% off for the packs, which makes it easy to stock your car, backpack, purse, or more with materials to reach the lost!
