Christmas Gratitude

Christmas-Gratitude---Giving-and-Receiving

We got an email here at the ministry the other day that we thought you would like to read:

Mr. Cahill,

My name is Evan S. I am a sinner. As of yesterday, I was just released from jail here in Oregon for DUI. I served 90 days. Not hard time, but away from my family. After a while of being away from God and on my 3rd day in, an inmate gave me your book One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven. I read it in 1 day. Then again a week later. Then I was given One Heartbeat Away. Same thing. Your words have brought me back to the love I was missing. For great reason, these 2 books touched my soul. I was able to bring home the One Thing…book. I will share it with my wife who has been begging me to get close with God. I am currently seeking new employment, and when I find it, I will get every book you have written. Mr. Cahill, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! I hope and pray that someday I could get 10 minutes of your time for a chat. But a message back would be amazing. I can’t wait to get more of your books and learn more how to be a better husband, father, son, man and follower of God.

THANK YOU AGAIN!

Evan

After sending him some materials to help him in his faith, he sent the following reply:

I am completely speechless at this time. I just arrived home from a great barbeque to find a package at my door step. You sent me EVERY book, DVD, and audiobook. Simply amazing, but not surprising after reading your work, Mark. I am so grateful and blessed to be home, and this is icing on the cake. I can’t wait to read the 5 books I haven’t read yet. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I’ve already passed One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven to my father. He’s excited to share these books with me, and I know my wife will read them as well. Thank you again. God bless.

FILL THE NETS!

Evan

One ministry we give to regularly is Prison Book Project (http://prisonbookproject.org/). They are a great group of folks who get Christian materials into prisons all across the country. Make sure you are getting involved with ministries that are on the frontlines in reaching souls for the Lord.

2 Corinthians 9:10,12:

“Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)  For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;”

2 Corinthians 10:14:

“For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:”

2 Corinthians 4:15:

“For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.”

1 Corinthians 3:6:

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.”

Proverbs 11:25:

“The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.”

Luke 6:38:

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

Many thanks to all of you who help out this ministry.  Whenever you purchase books and donate to the ministry, the proceeds go toward reaching the lost. We receive thanks all the time from prisoners, people overseas, and people at home who have been able to read our books, booklets, and DVDs. Thanks for helping to reach these people!

Christmas is a great time to touch someone’s life. Look around you. There are needy people everywhere—physically needy and spiritually needy. I was just reading about a South Korean pop star who committed suicide at age 27 this week. He had everything the world offers, but he had nothing spiritually. He left behind a suicide note, and parts of it were so sad. Who reached out to him? Who put a book or booklet in his hand? Who invited him to go out for a cup of coffee to share the gospel with him?

The message of Christmas is hope. Are you going to reach out to a friend or stranger this holiday season and plant a seed of eternal truth?  Keep planting and watering those seeds that can take root in their hearts and give them true and everlasting hope in Christ.
