I found myself on the other side of town this morning. Kind of a poorer area. As I was walking into a convenience store, I saw four guys sitting off to the side. “Are you thirsty?” That is an easy question to ask on a hot day! They nodded. So I told them to come inside and get a drink.
As they brought their drinks and food (did I say food??) up to the counter, one guy brought a six-pack of beer up there. You gotta love the audacity! If the tall guy is going to buy me something, I might as well get some cold ones! In a semi-friendly, nice tone, I told them no beer. This was a gift from Jesus, and I was not buying alcohol for them. They each got the gospel and something to read. Each one said they liked to read. Many street people do. Have some good gospel literature to give to them.
I wound up at another convenience store to get a coffee. I made myself a nice ice-cold coffee and was looking around. I was looking for something but couldn’t find it. So I walked up to the clerk behind bulletproof glass and asked, “Do you have any straws?” He pulled one out from behind the glass and slid it to me. “You keep those behind there because people steal them?” I guess you can figure out some characteristics of the part of town that I was in! The clerk was a Muslim from Qatar. Good conversation. He took both booklets to read.
As I was walking to my car, there was an older man out there who started walking towards me. I told him to come over to my car. He said, “Can you help me?” I have heard that a million times in life. “What can I help you with?” I need prayer. Now, that I haven’t heard a million times in life, but I wish I had.
I got to pray for Eric and talk to him about the Lord. Very nice man. He had a good faith after 74 years of living. Gave him a book and a booklet for him to read and a blessing. He was very thankful.
As I was getting in my car, he said, “What can I do for you?” I said, “I will take a prayer.” Eric prays differently than I do.
First he started singing, “God is so good, God is so good, God is so good, He’s so good to me.” Then he prayed for me. It was really a neat moment. He was kind of beaten up and broken down. Seemed like he had a hard life, but his faith was very strong as his days were winding down.
Go out today and meet an older person of the faith. They just have a way about them that will brighten your day.
Until the nets are full,

P.S. Linda went to dinner and had the pleasure of being served by Oli, who is from Albania. She was delighted with the booklet since she is interested in the afterlife.

Our booklet, One Second After is still discounted by 20% off. This outstanding booklet gives a rock-solid explanation of the gospel and answers many of the questions that unbelievers grapple with. Check it out and equip yourself to witness to others and give them the truth they need!

P.P.S. We received this neat email from Keith after the funeral service for his brother. This is the way we want our lives to be eulogized – insisting that the gospel be preached, so friends, family, and acquaintances who are still living can be warned!

Mark,
I wanted to thank you and your team for getting the booklets to me with urgency. Photo of the event, and program attached herewith. The gospel was clearly preached to 80 friends, family and business associates in attendance. There were definitely unbelievers in the crowd. During the service I had my daughter hand out one to each of the attenders to ensure each person received a copy. Thanks for participating with us in ensuring the Good News was shared to this crowd. This booklet is such a great tool.
Keith
