What is “revival” to you? What if a revival is truthfully what can happen right in front of you? See what happened to Carol when she least expected it:
Hi Mark,
This encounter happened yesterday. I woke me up in the night, praising the Lord and laughing so hard that I could hardly get back to sleep
I was checking out at a local Dollar store with a lot of items when in came a “biker” couple that I had never seen or met. The blonde wife started talking to my cashier―they were friends―and she was complaining about her husband, but in a funny way. He was standing in a long checkout line.
She said to the cashier, “No kidding. I don’t know what has happened to him. He’s gone off the deep end. He won’t go out on his Harley much or hang out with his drinking buddies anymore. He won’t go in the bar or drink anymore at all. He even stopped swearing!”
I’m sure my eyes grew huge as I looked over at her, and said, “SERIOUSLY?”
“Yeah,” she said, “Just look at him over there in line, grinning like an idiot!”
So, I looked over at this huge, six and a half foot tall man with long beard, wearing rugged biker jeans and a hat, and smiling with a huge, toothy grin! He could hear us talking about him, even though he was standing in a long line about 25 feet from me. Everyone there could hear the following conversation between us!!!
So, I said to him, “For REAL?”
“YUP!” he said, still grinning.
“What happened?” I was on a roll!
“Dunno!” He shrugged, still grinning!
“Did you win the lottery or something?” I continued.
“Nope. It was a huge, bright light.”
“From where?” This was interesting, and nobody seemed to mind.
He kinda smirked and shrugged. “Maybe God,” he said quietly smiling.
“So, if you were to die and He asks you why He should let you into Heaven, what would you tell Him?”
Still smiling, now more broadly, he replied, “He won’t ask me. He knows me!”
“BUT,” I continued, “What about your sin? You can’t get in with sin!”
“That’s all gone,” He shrugged again.
“Where’d it go?” I smiled, too, but encouragingly!
“Dunno. He took it away!”
“Did His Son Jesus go to the cross, bleed, and die to pay for your sin?”
“Yup, He did. That’s what happened!” His smile had grown substantially!
(EVERYONE IN THAT PLACE HEARD OUR CONVERSATION!!!)
We continued to talk and eventually exchanged contact info, but, Mark, this kind of thing happened to me all day yesterday and everywhere I went. I’d hand out a tract, and they’d want to talk about it! It was amazing!
Even in the local bank, I bumped into some guy who had been my husband’s friend forty years ago. I shared the gospel with him, and he took biblical information from me. Then I went out to the car, and there was a girl I had known forty-five years ago who saw me, waved, and came over to talk. I gave her a tract and explained the gospel to her! EVERYONE I ran into was GLAD to hear it!!
I had more opportunities than ever. It was amazing. One dear soul, who was working at a free food giveaway said, “Wow. I don’t know what to do. I just keep sinning and sinning,” as we talked about the Lord and salvation!
This makes me think we may be beginning a final revival! Yes, I want everyone to know, appreciate, and love our Jesus, but I long to see Him and be with Him―face to face―even more! So, it can’t be soon enough for me! Even so, come Lord Jesus! Amen.
