Some of you might remember the newsletter we did last fall about Dave Ramsey and his Waffle House story. If you have not read it, the link can be found below. We received a lot of feedback about it.

A friend of the ministry had his own Waffle House encounter, and he sent us the details of what happened::
Hey, Mark!
You remember the Waffle House newsletter with Dave Ramsey? It stuck with me. The thought of only handing someone cash without ministering to them and think that person would glorify God made me cringe. You and I had a back-and-forth about this. I had to share this story with you.
My son’s birthday was back in October. He turned 4. I told him he could go to dinner anywhere he wanted. He told me he wanted a waffle. Where else do you get a waffle at 7 p.m. other than the Waffle House?! So, I took him there with my wife and other kids.
Before we walked in, I reached for my tracts and realized I only had one left. We were the only people in the entire restaurant. Our waitress’ name was Kat, a young girl.
After our meal, I asked Kat if she kept the entire tip. She told me she did, so I gave her a three-digit tip, and she broke down. Told me all about how all of her money had just been stolen and she could hardly afford rent, so this was going to help her. I reached for whatever cash we had on us and gave her that as well. She asked why we would do this. I told her I didn’t need the money, and that Jesus said it was better to give than receive. I asked her what she thought happened after this life. She wasn’t sure. We had an amazing conversation about Jesus, His authority, and His love for her.
Kat was wearing a sweatshirt, and it was hot outside. She called attention to it and said that she was hiding scars and wounds from where she had tried to take her life. Before I left, we were hugging from across the barrier. I gave her a One Second After You Die booklet and assured her that Jesus loved her and had plans for her future.
Kat told me what was even more amazing to her about meeting us was she didn’t even work in that location. She was there just to pick up a shift. I assured her that she and I were both there to meet, and Jesus put it all together.
It was the most expensive waffle I had ever bought but worth every penny! That was back in October. We bought Kat a Bible, and my wife has been ministering to her and inviting her to church.
Well, tonight, we took her to worship, and afterward, she and I and my wife sat in the lobby and talked for a long time about God’s love and how the void in her heart seemed to be filled when she was around us, the Bible, or church. I explained to her what Solomon taught in Ecclesiastes 3:11―that God had set eternity in all our hearts, meaning we can’t fill that void without Christ. Only He can truly satisfy. She told me she wanted that. And I invited her to accept Jesus as her Savior.
Mark, God is so good. This young girl almost took her life three times in the past couple of years. She was destitute and without hope. Tonight, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. I praise His name because He used me to bring her to Him. For that, I am so grateful.
To Him be ALL the Glory,
Logan

Acts 13:49,50
And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region. But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.
Paul took three missionary journeys. Some of them didn’t end so well, in a worldly sense. But I am sure that, when he was kicked out of places late at night, he was probably hungry and wanted something to eat. Paul would have been right at home at a Waffle House. And make sure you are right at home at Waffle House as well.
Lost souls all around us. Time to do the Lord’s work. If they are serving us, we can do no less than serve them the truth that can save their souls.
Until the nets are full,
P.S. I stopped at a gas station today and saw some lawn care guys on the grass taking their lunch break. So, I walked over and gave them some Spanish tracts and my book One Heartbeat Away in Spanish. I find that most Spanish-speaking folks are very open to taking gospel literature. I get my Spanish tracts at www.chick.com and from https://mwtb.org/
When I started to drive away, I looked back and saw that two of the guys were lying down in the sun reading the tracts, and the driver was in the truck flipping through pages of the Spanish book! God is good. Keep planting seeds that He can make grow!

P.P.S. None of us should put up with this kind of foolishness. Remember, God gave your children to you to raise and not to anybody else. All parents need to take seriously the responsibility God gave them to nurture and train up their children in the Lord. You want to be confident that you raised great, godly children for the Lord when you finally meet Him face to face.
