Salvation is the most beautiful gift in life! When you are saved, you know, you know, you know that you will finally get to be with Jesus when you take your last breath. That assurance gives you hope in this life and for the life to come.
1 John 5:13
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
Knowing that we have eternal life is one reason why we Christians live differently, think differently, and enjoy our short time down here differently. We know that life here is just a temporary existence for us. The real treat is to know that we will be with Jesus for eternity. This is why we can look at the things of this life differently than the world does. This is why we have a freedom that non-believers cannot experience.
Safe in Heaven
Charlie Kirk is enjoying salvation much more than any of us do now! He is finally with the Lord. He will be in the presence of an all-loving God for every moment of eternity. Just think about that for a second. Is heaven going to be your final destination? Is it going to be the final destination for your friends? If it isn’t their destination, what will you do to make sure it is?
Philippians 1:21
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
The apostle Paul knew. Make sure you know as well.
If you saw the close-up video of Charlie’s assassination, then you know he had a quick exit from this life. He went straight into the arms of Jesus. He lost too much blood for him to survive.
But all of this got me thinking. I love to think and process things, to wrestle with and look at things from different angles. If you do, then you might end up seeing something that you hadn’t seen before.
Why Charlie?
One question that comes up is, “Why didn’t God stop him from being killed?” The most obvious thing in the world is that God protected Mr. Trump the day he was shot in Butler, PA. There is really no other explanation for how he escaped a shot. Gunmen with scopes at close range just don’t miss. Even without a ton of training, a scope whittles down the chances of missing by a lot. If the shooter in Butler was who they say he was, he actually had a decent amount of training shooting weapons, as did the shooter—they say—in Charlie’s case.
We know God could have stopped the bullet from hitting Charlie. That is easy for Him to do. So why did He stop Mr. Trump from being assassinated but not Charlie Kirk?
Is it possible that Charlie could do more work for the Lord in death than while he was living? Is it possible that the message of forgiveness by the blood of Jesus would reverberate across the world more in his death than in his life?
But then we have the situation of a grieving young family and a wife who must raise her young children without their father. So many questions.
A Mixed Marriage
Let’s dig a little deeper. Charlie’s wife was Catholic. Is Roman Catholicism the same faith system as biblical Christianity?
If you think it is, please listen to the talk I gave called Roman Catholicism vs. The Bible:
https://markcahill.org/wp-content/uploads/audio/18%20-%20Roman%20Catholicism_The%20Bible.mp3
They are not the same faith. Does God warn us in the Scriptures about who we should and should not marry? You know the answer to that question.
Here is an example from the Old Testament:
Deuteronomy 7:3,4
Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
One of the key words in this passage is “turn.” If you yoke yourself in marriage or business with someone who does not align with you spiritually, there can always be the problem of competing interests and competing desires. And those differences will come to a head at some point.
When I have seen mixed marriages between Catholics and Bible-believing Christians, problems usually surface when they have children. Will they raise them in the Catholic tradition or in the ways of God’s Word?
Stepping Foot Inside
Then I saw this Facebook post, and it made me think a lot more.

If what they are saying about this picture is correct, what would Charlie be doing attending a Mass at a Catholic Church? There is no reason for him to do that. Catholicism is a false religious system. You don’t worship God there. Instead, you call people to come out of any false belief system and into the true light of Jesus Christ.
But the part about his marriage being recently validated by the Catholic Church is probably the biggest “tell” of all.
Here is a quote about the subject of marriage validation:
“When the Catholic Church validates a marriage, it means the Church officially recognizes the marriage as a valid sacramental or canonical union according to its teachings and canon law. This process, often referred to as “convalidation” or “validation,” typically occurs when a marriage was initially contracted outside the proper canonical form or had some other impediment, but the couple seeks to have their union recognized by the Church.” (Accessed from Grok, xAI, 2025)
One of the joys in life is meeting people. And of those great joys is meeting married people. I have yet to meet one married couple from the evangelical world who ever had their marriage validated by the Catholic Church. Why? Who cares what its opinion of my marriage is? God has the only opinion here. You get married the biblical way and live out a biblical marriage. No Bible-believing Christian would ever have their marriage validated by the Catholic Church unless…
Was He Stepping Closer?
Here is a link to something Candace Owens said about Charlie.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/bgvEVAUh1L0
Now, if you know about Candace, then you know she has a lot of issues, but she was a friend of Charlie’s. There would be no reason at all for her to make statements like she has unless she knew them to be true.
“I know for a fact that Charlie was praying the rosary.”
Bible-believing Christians do not pray the rosary. Ask any former Catholic, of which I am one. Once you are saved, the rosary is long gone from your life.
Candace also said,
“Charlie was going to Mass.”
Candace reportedly told Charlie,
“You are too smart to be a Protestant.”
Candace married a Catholic man, and a short time later, she left the Protestant faith to become a Roman Catholic.
His Childhood Friend
John Yep is the president of Catholics for Catholics. He was a childhood friend of Charlie’s. They kept in touch. You have to watch this short video to see what he said about Charlie’s move toward Catholicism:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xd6Sgw00G5Q
Why?? Why, Charlie, why did you say to your friend, “Do you know any Catholic priests that I can talk to?”
One of Charlie’s text messages said, “We need millions of Catholics praying for Trump.” True followers of the Lord don’t send text messages like that. Mary cannot help a single soul here on earth.
It became very obvious that John was trying to convert Charlie to Catholicism. But was Charlie just as adamant about persuading John to trust in the Word of God and the blood of Christ for his salvation and not in the Catholic Church or in the Mass?
John said,
“I would see him at morning Mass.”
What was Charlie doing going to morning Mass??
John said he was conducting a vigil for Charlie to pull through,
“Doing a live rosary for his survival.”
Where is that in the Bible? Of course, it isn’t there.
John also said,
“I was part of Charlie’s church family, where he often came.”
What??
“Tell the Lord, and His mother Mary, whom you now believe in fully.”
This is one of the most disheartening videos I have ever watched.
Charlie’s Pendant
On the day Charlie was shot, he was wearing a pendant of Saint Michael the Archangel. Erika now wears that pendant because it has some of Charlie’s blood on it. Bible-believing Christians do not wear St. Michael pendants. That is a Catholic tradition, through and through.

“Yes, Charlie Kirk was wearing a St. Michael the Archangel medallion (a protective Catholic medal depicting the archangel battling evil) at the time of his death. According to accounts from his widow, Erika Kirk, and corroborated by multiple reports, the medallion was ripped from his body by medics as they attempted to stop the bleeding from the gunshot wound. A trace of his blood remains in the crevice of the cross on the pendant.
Yes, Erika Kirk now wears that same blood-stained medallion as a personal keepsake and symbol of her faith and grief. In a September 21, 2025, interview with The New York Times, she described it as a tangible reminder of her husband, stating that she keeps it close to her heart. She has continued to wear it publicly, including during tributes and the memorial service at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on September 21, 2025, where she forgave the shooter in a speech. Erika views the medallion’s survival intact amid the trauma as a sign of divine protection and peace, aligning with her devout Christian beliefs.”
(New York Times)
I was not able to link to this New York Times article, since it is behind a pay wall. But this begs the question: Why would Charlie have worn a Catholic medallion?
Erika also held up a rosary as Charlie’s body was transported back to Phoenix. Is this where her faith lies?
Catholic Reporting
Here’s a comment from a writer who recognized the “tells” he saw from Charlie Kirk in the weeks leading up to his death. This is the second thing he noticed:
The other was a personal exchange between Charlie Kirk and a Catholic bishop who happens to be my brother: Bishop Joseph Brennan of Fresno. The bishop has given me permission to divulge the content of that conversation.
A little more than a week before his murder, Kirk attended a pro-life prayer breakfast in Visalia, California, which is in the Diocese of Fresno. The bishop was among those in attendance and had a brief, private moment with Kirk.
It was there that Kirk told the bishop about his Catholic wife and children and how he attended Mass with them. He punctuated this conversation with “I love my Catholic pastor.”
As they were parting to attend the more public portion of the prayer breakfast, Kirk mentioned speculation regarding his contemplating entering the Catholic Church, saying: “I’m this close.”
https://angelusnews.com/voices/kirk-conversion/
Was he “that close”? It sure seems like it.
I have met plenty of Catholic priests and bishops throughout the years. You know what I do when I meet them? I share the biblical gospel with them! I want them to come to the true understanding of what the Bible says.
Leaving the Faith?
What I am deducing from what I’ve read about Charlie is that he was about to leave the Christian faith and join the Roman Catholic Church. I want you to think about that for a second. Do you have any clue at all how devastating a conversion like that would be to so many people? His organization’s followers are made up of many young men in the 18-28 age group. Many, many of them are Bible-believing Christians.
Had Charlie converted, it would have been putting his stamp of approval on the Roman Catholic Church. It would have upended the faith of so many of his young followers. People who know the Bible know that these are two different faiths. Why would their “hero” make a decision like this when he is so articulate and his opinions are so well thought-out?
There is so much more to discuss when it comes to anyone who is thinking about converting to Catholicism. We’ll cover that in Part 2 of this newsletter, which comes out on Wednesday.
