I was heading out to get something to eat, and as I always do, I prayed for BOB before walking out the front door. If you haven’t watched that message, you might want to check it out (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0zg9hzFVVE). I also prayed to have the right waiter or waitress.

As I sat in my seat, I got into a conversation with the manager. Michael is a nice man, and we have had some good give-and-takes in the past. The waitress kept trying to come over to get my drink order, but she couldn’t because I was talking with her boss. When she made it over, I ordered water with no lemon.

I don’t know about you, and maybe it is just me, but sometimes I just can’t figure things out. Maybe I was tired, and maybe I wasn’t. But I just wasn’t sure if my waitress was a waiter or a waitress! Has that ever happened to you? Does anyone remember the good ole days when men were men and women were women, and we had no problem at all figuring out who was who? God, please bring those days back!

As I was talking to her, I just wasn’t sure who I was talking with. I always ask for my server’s name. It’s something we should always do. Then we can call them by name the entire time we are there. It shows that they are valuable. I have had waitstaff tell me that they worked entire shifts, and not one customer learned their name. They are not robots. Learn their names.

So I asked for a name, and I got “Ty.” Well, that didn’t help me at all! I then said, “That is probably a nickname. What is your name on your birth certificate?” Well, when she said, “Tyra,” I breathed a sigh of relief! I like to know if I am talking with an XX or an XY.

Good chat with her. She had actually read Proverbs 3 that morning, but yet she couldn’t explain biblical salvation. Whenever that happens, it gives us the chance to explain it to them. It was a good seed plant. She loved to read, so I gave her a couple of books and a nice tip.

I was hanging around a bit after my meal and chatting with the manager when Ty walked back over. She wanted me to know that she was just chatting with her fiancé, and she told her that last week, a tall, handsome (those were her words, and I was in no mood to disagree!), white man bought her food and a few other things at a Family Dollar store a week earlier. Every now and then, I will stop by a store like that and just buy for two or three people whatever items they were getting and give out some booklets and tracts to them and some of the staff. Her fiancé told her that I had to be the same guy.

As you have already guessed, there were way too many “she’s” and “hers” going on in this conversation. Earlier, Ty and I talked about reading the Bible and obeying what we read, yet she referred to the other lady as her “wife” a couple of times. So what would you do at this point? Would you avoid the issue? Or would you jump right in?

I asked Ty, “Do you know what the Bible says about marriage?” We had a good discussion about that.

Genesis 2:24

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Then she mentioned she had a son who is in his 20s. Okay, my head is swirling now. Then I knew she had been with at least one guy, so I wondered how she ended up going the lesbian route. Guess what? That is exactly what I asked her. She said to me that she had been abused as a child. If you ever talk with gays and lesbians, more times than you want to count, they will mention this. Those traumatic events can cause gender confusion, and then Satan can make his move.

I let her know that we can NEVER go wrong doing things God’s way. Read His Word and obey what He says. Kind of a simple task that He has given to us down here. Pray for Ty and her soul.

Open doors are everywhere, folks. Time to walk right through them and see where God leads you.

All you have to say to folks is, “Did you get one of these?” They typically take the tract right out of your hand!
