In recent weeks, relief pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, Anthony Bass, has been in the news for reposting a video on Instagram about boycotting Target and Bud Light for their stance on homosexuality and the grooming of children. The boycotts have been a big topic of discussion on social media over the past several months. People are talking about taking a stand and, in effect, saying, “Enough is enough.”
However, there is a problem here. When you take a stand, it might cost you something. I call it “Put-Up or Shut-Up Time.”
Well, after Anthony Bass was called on the carpet by the management of the Blue Jays for sharing the post, he issued the following statement:

That was embarrassing. Boy, did he back down quickly. Why did he back down? Probably because it was going to cost him something. It was probably going to cost him his job. He happens to work in one of the most pro-homosexual cities in the world. They cannot allow “wrong speak.” And, of course, you and I are alive at a time when “biblical speak” will almost always be considered “wrong speak.”
Anthony said he was going to use the Blue Jays’ resources to better educate himself. What does that organization have to offer that can educate him better than the Bible can? As a Christian, your education is found between the pages of Genesis and Revelation, properly interpreted. That is enough.
But, remember, when you cave to the fascist left, they never let up. Once they smell blood in the water, they keep coming.
Guess what they did next? They continued their “walk of shame” by scheduling him to catch the ball for the ceremonial pitch on the first night of Pride weekend in Toronto!!
I am guessing that most of us don’t read Foxe’s Book of Martyrs or read about the lives of Peter, Paul, or others who were persecuted for their faith. Christianity has a cost to it. All Anthony was going to lose was a job―a very well-paying job―but still, just a job. You don’t think the Lord of Heaven and Earth would have taken care of that man and his family if he had stood his ground and not backed down?
Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Psalm 51:1
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Thank God that He is merciful! Goodness. We all need it so much. Please pray for Anthony Bass to run to the merciful God, whom he believes in, during this time of trial and testing. As you know, God will give him another chance to stand for Him. Pray that Anthony’s backbone for our Lord will be much stronger than it is at this time.
Until the Nets are Full,
P.S. Update: Anthony Bass has now been sacked! That is correct. The Blue Jays have cut him. It was probably their endgame anyway because the franchise is so beholden to the gay agenda. Now do you see why Anthony should not have backed down from his biblically principled stance? He was going to be released anyway. He could have been a real hero to many in the Christian community if he had remained firm and immovable for the truth.
P.P.S. Now, this is what I am talking about! The Lady Sooners speak about their temporary win on the softball diamond and their eternal win found only in Jesus Christ! All three ladies hit it out of the park!
