I was watching a video recently, and it really got me thinking. We have such huge problems within the visible church. Some of the antics that are performed to get people’s attention are just beyond the pale.
But does any of that bring glory to the Lord?
Is it the job of the pastor and his church to merely entertain the flock for an hour each Sunday? What if that same pastor broke down the Word of God for that hour instead? What if he went deep into the Word to pull out its truths? Would people still be interested in attending that church? What’s that saying: What you win them with is what you win them to.
I think you will find this video interesting. But a comment from Rod Parsley toward the end truthfully took the cake. He has found something new and interesting in the Bible that has never been taught before. Whenever you hear that someone has received a new revelation from God or is teaching something that no one else has ever figured out before, the hair on the back of your neck should stand up. Are you telling me that over the last 2,000 years, not one Christian has thought about or discussed what you just figured out? I am not buying that. And one reason I am not buying it is because people who say such things are usually trying to sell you their latest book or their latest DVD. And if your brand new teaching has to do with the End Times, the Shemitah, Blood Moons, etc., you will definitely sell a lot of books!

There is nothing new under the sun. God has given you all the revelation you need, which is found in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
