Linda is a bold soul-winner. She always has stories to tell about her witnessing encounters. Why? Well, you know the answer to that!
She wrote in with the following surprising conversation:
Hi Mark,
By the way, demonic people are very much at work today! Yesterday, I ran into a sweet, 86-year-old gentleman at Walmart. We were both looking for heartburn meds in the pharmacy area. We struck up a conversation, and—I honestly don’t know how this happens—but we got onto the subject of God, and I offered him a Chick tract. He smiled and said that he’s a Christian, and he’s good to go. But when people say that, I always stick it in their hand anyway and tell them to read it one time to make sure, then hand it to someone else who doesn’t know where they are going to spend eternity. I say, “See, if you are a Christian, you have a job to do!”
Then I went on to tell him about the four things on every tombstone. It doesn’t matter if you died yesterday or 1,000 years ago; those four things are on every tombstone. First is your name. You didn’t get to pick it; someone else gave it to you. Second is your birth date. Again, you had absolutely no say in that matter! Third is your death date. We all die and can’t do anything to change that. (It is appointed unto man once to die, then the judgment.) But the fourth thing, the very last thing, is the dash between the birth date and death date. That is when you, and you alone, make the decision that affects your eternal destination. It is called a dash because it is short and quick. I said, “We are both in the dash because we were born, but we aren’t dead yet. But at age 86, you are running out of dash time. After the death date is carved into that tombstone, it’s too late! You are already there! It is of the utmost importance, therefore, to be sure that you come to Christ for salvation—not on your terms, but on His!”
He then looked at me and said, “Do you like jokes?”
I said, “Sure,” not knowing what that meant.
Suddenly, this sweet, old man began telling me the filthiest stuff with filthy language; his whole face changed! His eyes were, well, really weird and kind of scary. My first thought was, “This guy is demon-possessed and Satan doesn’t like me, so they are trying to chase me away!”
I offered him the tract one more time because I really believed he needed it, but he smiled and said, “No thanks, but it sure has been nice talking to you.” All I can do is pray for his soul. Sad.

Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Anyone out there with some years under your belt? This life is kind of short and quick, isn’t it? Another day, another week, another month, another year, and another decade. They just keep scooting on by.
Please enjoy your quick sprint through this life. It is called a dash for a reason. Make sure your dash counts for eternity as well.
Until the nets are full,
P.S. Hey, dads, thanks for being there for your kids!
