Seems to me that reading is becoming a lost art form. A lot of people I chat with tell me they are willing to read short articles on the Internet, but not long articles or printed books. This is not good. Christians should be known as readers and have a voracious appetite for reading.
One newsletter I receive regularly is from David Cloud’s ministry, Way of Life Literature (www.wayoflife.org). It is a good one to subscribe to. David is known for being honest to the Scriptures and unafraid to call out error and heresy. He addresses many issues and trends blowing through the church that others don’t seem to want to touch. He puts truth on the line and lets readers consider the implications in front of them.

We should be reading our Bibles front to back every year. Just three and a half chapters a day, and you will go through it in a calendar year.
I have read a lot of the articles and postings on David’s site as well as some of his books. He has written a ton of insightful books and produced a lot of good materials that would be useful for study in Sunday school classes. I am going to start his Romans study very soon.
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Turn off the TV and Netflix and put some books in front of you and your family. Study, so you know the truth. Study, so you can discern biblical teachings from popular teachings. Study, so you can give truthful answers to the lost. Study, to show yourself approved as a workman for the Lord. You will not regret it all the days of your life.
