A friend of mine was ordained at his church a few weeks ago, and he asked me to speak for the Sunday service. What a nice offer. It was an easy decision for me to make since I am a huge fan of him and his family!
Mr. David was the one who was being ordained, but the whole gang is just amazing. Mom is a great soul-winner, and she makes some amazing curry! I have known their three boys since they were little tykes. One is now in law school, and he tells me about some of the great witnessing encounters he has there. The middle son is now running one of his dad’s businesses, but I am beginning to wonder about his work ethic since every time I swing by the store, he is witnessing to one of their customers! As you may have guessed, he is very bold for the Lord. So, it’s no surprise that their youngest son is also a dedicated soul-winner who is currently a senior in high school. All of these boys were homeschooled, all of them love the Lord, and all of them are following in their parents’ footsteps of boldly caring about where people will spend their eternity.
I decided to speak that morning on the topic of compassion. It was an interesting talk to work on. As I put the verses and stories together, something became readily apparent: I need to have more compassion as I follow the Lord! He has compassion for me, so I need to have compassion for others.
Here is the talk I gave that day. I hope you enjoy it and are encouraged and challenged by the message.
Psalm 86:15
But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
Until the nets are full,
P.S. Lost people are everywhere around us. They serve us in restaurants, walk past our homes, knock on our doors, buy things at the same stores we do, attend sporting events, study in our schools, and more. Literally, they are everywhere we go.
Linda had a short encounter with a man working at a computer in a store recently. Sometimes, all it takes is handing them a tract and asking a simple question to get a conversation rolling:
To help you reach all of these lost souls around us, we have lowered our suggested donation to 25% off. Click on the link below and check them out on our Tracts page.
