Since Pharaoh can celebrate his birthday, I made the decision that I can celebrate mine! So today is my birthday. I was going to invite all of my “servants†over, but then I realized I don’t have any! (We will be taking applications for those positions sometime soon!)
So please, do not buy me a house, a new car, a Rolex, a pair of diamond-studded reading glasses, gold faucets (Actually, only one person in America will get that joke!), or give me a title deed to some beachfront property in Kansas. Instead, let’s have some real fun on my birthday.
I always do two things on my birthday: bless others and witness. I call it playing “reverse birthday.†First, I make it a point to intentionally find people to bless, kind of like a “thank you†to the Lord for life. Second, I make sure I am witnessing to the lost on my birthday. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the day than to share my faith and bless others. Sometimes, I hit the trifecta and get to preach on my birthday, but this year it falls on a Monday.
So if you want to celebrate my birthday with me, please witness to one person today. Open up your mouth, and tell that person what Jesus has done for them. Give out a few tracts as well. And, if you plan on forgetting my birthday again next year, go ahead and witness to two people today, just in case!
