In this interview, Eric Trump makes the following comment:
“We’re saving Christianity. We’re saving God.”
Let me answer that statement: “No, you are not.” Christianity was just fine before the Trumps took office, Christianity is just fine while the Trumps are in office, and Christianity will be just fine after the Trumps are out of office.
Christianity does not saving; Eric needs saving. Mr. Trump needs saving. Donald Trump Jr. needs saving.
When you hear President Trump talk about heaven, he always mentions earning his way there. What does that tell you? He does not even understand the basic gospel. But wait. Hasn’t he gathered a “Faith Team” around him? Yes, he has. But if you look at who is on it, you might get a better picture of why he doesn’t understand the gospel.
Philippians 1:12
But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;
Have you heard about the current—as we speak—plight of Christians in Nigeria who are being slaughtered by the Muslims right now? It’s an ongoing and very grave situation. These martyrs have done more for the furtherance of the gospel than we could have imagined.
But think about it: Have you heard about the pastor who is faithful to the Word of God, who is a soul-winner, and who trains up his church in the truths of God’s Word? Of course, you haven’t heard of him. He seems to be nonexistent in our world, but trust me, he exists. I can’t wait to meet followers of Jesus like him and other faithful believers in heaven. What a day that will be!
Eric goes on to list some of the accomplishments of the current administration and said about his father,
“He will go to heaven for all of that.”
Again, that is not true. They do not understand the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Only the blood of Jesus cleanses you of sin. Good deeds might mask our sins, but they do not cleanse them.
Hebrews 9:14
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Revelation 1:5
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
One hundred years from now, it will not matter if you were the President of the United States, a billionaire, an entrepreneur, a milkman, or a janitor. All that will matter is did you become born-again, and what did you do for Jesus with your life, finances, voice, etc.?
Please pray for Mr. Trump, Eric, Don Jr., and the whole family. They have missed the point of what they need to do to be right with the Holy God who created them.
