One reason we pray for divine appointments is that we really want God to set us up with the person He wants us to talk to. I want to talk to everybody, but with certain people, you know, you know, you know that you are supposed to talk to them!

Hi Mark,
Greetings from Tanzania, East Africa. This past weekend, my church had a prayer retreat, and because of the number of people, we had to use university dorms for people’s accommodation. One student, passing by on Friday as people were arriving, asked me, “What are all these people doing here?” I responded, “They have a prayer retreat.” He then said, “That’s interesting.” I asked, “Why?” He said, “I don’t have a religion. I believe God exists, but we human beings are in charge of our own fate.” I then asked him if he had a few minutes to talk, and he agreed.
Long story short, Lucas was born and raised Catholic. Now he is a deist who believes that mankind is about 30 years away from creating life itself, due to technological advancement and AI. He sees no need for church and claims to have no faith.
Well, as God’s sense of humor would have it, I was born and raised Catholic and became an atheist before believing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and becoming a believer. And, even more, I am a software engineer, so I knew a lot about the tech and AI stuff that he had faith in (while denying that he had faith). I respectfully questioned his positions and walked him through the Ten Commandments and the Gospel.
While he did not become a believer, I was encouraged by remembering something I had read in One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven, that even planting a seed is a win. We exchanged phone numbers, and two days later (yesterday) he texted me with a question, to which I responded.
We can only WIN, WIN, WIN when we present the Gospel to people. I am thankful for your newsletters. The best way remains approaching people and having a conversation. You never know what door God will open for you.

What an amazing divine encounter! Perfect timing for Samson and that young man.
Maybe take another read of One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven. Many have told us that the chapter “Winning, Winning, Winning” has been life-changing for them.

Hi Mark,
Just finished 12 hours on Saturday and 9 hours today. We gave out 1,400 hourglass tracts, 1,500 million dollar bills, approximately 600 assorted tracts, One Heartbeat Away books, and One Minute After You…booklets. Three Muslims took “Glad News, My Muslim Friends, Jesus Loves You” books. We witnessed to Catholics, Sikhs, the unchurched, and the unsaved.
Of our church of about 60 people, 30 being 5 and under, 22 came out on Saturday and 15 on Sunday. A number of people came to church on Sunday who we witnessed to on Saturday.
Thank you for getting me the materials in a timely manner. People were studying One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven in preparation.
