Here is a simple question for you: Has God preserved His Word for us in 2025, or has He not?
The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
I was reading an article by David Cloud from Way of Life Ministries. His articles always get me thinking! Those are the writers I like. They love God, they love Jesus, and they love the Bible! They want to interpret it correctly and make sure people have truth in today’s world.
If you think about it, it is really very simple: Satan does not want you reading the Bible. Period. But if you do read the Bible, wouldn’t his goal be to get something false in front of you so you will miss something God is trying to teach you? Never forget that the Deceiver deceives. The thing about deception is sometimes it is hard to spot. But if you really know about an issue and know your Bible, the lies become very easy to spot.
David Cloud made a comment in the article about the whittling away of Scripture. That really struck me. Satan knows that he can’t put a super big lie in newer translations. But if he whittles away at truth, a little bit here and a little bit there, then he can walk us away from the truths of God’s Word.
We teach TETE all the time: “Test Everything and Test Everybody.” But we also need to test the Bibles we put in front of our eyes. Just because it says “Holy Bible” on the front cover does not in any way mean that it has been accurately translated. Translators have agendas, and so does Satan. And sometimes those two mix together.
“Instead of our good old Saxon Bible, simple and solid, with few words obsolete, and alike majestic and beautiful, we should have a modern English translation in pert and flippant language of the day. The (Authorized Version)…is, we believe, the grand bulwark of Protestantism, the safeguard of the Gospel, and the treasure of the church; and we should be traitors in every sense of the word if we consented to give it up to be rifled by…sacrilegious hands…and the whole tribe of enemies of God and godliness.” — J. C. Philpot

Mr. Philpot died in the 1800s. He knew there would be a battle for the Bible coming down the road. My, my. He was so prescient.
David Cloud wrote in the same article:
“The truth is, he has neglected to answer the underlying complaints of the entire KJV-only mindset, and that is that Satan is at work through unbelieving scholars to undermine all of scripture. Fundamentalists and Bible believers stand on the fact that the Bible teaches that apostasy will be the hallmark of Christianity in the last days. When the great Christian scholars of the age teach that Moses is a myth and that we do not know who wrote significant parts of the New Testament, we clearly see the accuracy of the warnings of scripture.”
I think you will like the following article. David Cloud’s newsletter is also a good one to sign up for, which you can do at this link: https://www.wayoflife.org/reports/logos-bible-software-mark-ward-kjv.php
Keep battling for the Bible! His Word is worth it!
Until the nets are full,

P.S. .Bob and his team love hitting the Oceanside Pier in San Diego to do some witnessing. We need to be out where the lost souls are. Yes, it can be tough sometimes. Yes, the devil plays around big time in those areas. But when you meet a Marine and his wife, or an Adriel and Rebecca who are primed to hear the gospel, it makes all of the sweat, sunburn, and tired feet at the end of the day well worth it! P.P.S. Every once in a while, you run into an interesting example that explains how more exists outside our world than many perceive. Check out this short video that makes that point effectively.
