I was just finishing up some witnessing at a gas station. There are tons of people to talk with and bless at gas stations!
As I was wrapping up, I was sitting in my car getting ready to pull out. Then a car pulled up to a pump across from me. I told myself that I had a good morning of witnessing, and it was time to go somewhere else, but I just felt like I needed to chat with that guy.
Now, you have to understand that to stay was a big decision for me. Once I am settled in my car, it can be kind of tough to get out of it again. The task of unwinding my legs, straightening them out, putting my feet on the ground, and starting to walk isn’t always the easiest thing for me to do! Long legs can be a hindrance sometimes!
Byron and I ended up having a great chat. It was a good back and forth. He said he was saved at 14 but walked far, far away from the faith. He spent some time in prison. Then he started studying Islam. We talked about who Jesus is, and why knowing the right Jesus is really the most important thing.
Mark 8:29
And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.
I used that question with him. I let Byron know that you do not want the wrong Jesus on Judgment Day.
He took both of our booklets and said, “Why did you come up and talk with me?” I let him know that I was getting ready to leave when I saw him pull up, and I really felt like I was supposed to chat with him. I also let him know that I prayed that morning for a good conversation today. I was able to tell him that he was the answer to that prayer.
John 4:13-15
Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
John 4:19
The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
I wonder if the woman at the well was thinking, Why did you walk up to me today?
I think she knew.
Bryon took a couple of books as well. He loves to read. He needs to figure out who Jesus really is.
By the end of the conversation, Byron knew why I had walked up to him.
Walk up to someone today, and point them to the cross. You will be glad you did, and so will they!

P.S. I was standing by my car in the neighborhood when a car stopped. He liked the magnets on my car. So we started talking. He’s a youth pastor who loves to witness! As we were talking, he told me that he goes to a skate park to do some witnessing.
I let him know that I was having dinner one night with a friend of mine named Bobby. Guess what? Bobby has gotten saved!! Praise ye the Lord! I have known him for about 8 years. Kept investing and praying for him, and God worked His wonder of salvation in his life.
One night, while we were eating, I bought a meal for another table. I do that a lot. It’s a fun way to represent Jesus and witness to some folks. This time, it was four teens that were eating out. We never did that much when I was a teen! We never had enough nickels for that. I figured they could use a blessing.
They were very nice young men who were easy to chat with. Two were Jewish brothers. They all took some materials. They let me know that they are skaters and that some guy witnesses to them on Fridays. They said he comes by, chats with them, and reads the Bible to them.
Well, I guess you can already figure out the rest of the story! That youth pastor was the guy! He said one of the kids at the skate park was named David. And it turned out he was one of the Jewish brothers I was buying dinner for that night. The youth pastor also let me know that their dad died when they were six. Sometimes, you just don’t know what has gone on in people’s lives. So glad I was able to water the seeds that this youth pastor had been planting.
