Old or Young?

Feb 1, 2025

I don’t know. Maybe I am getting older. When you are more than 50 years old, you are definitely on the downhill slide of life. I had one great-great-grandparent live to 104, but living past 100 is very rare.

I saw this tweet about the plane crash in DC:

Look at that young face. In this picture, Spencer is enjoying his life and enjoying one of the loves of his life. The medal shows that he is accomplished at what he does.

But was he thinking that this might be the last flight of his life?

Was he thinking about achieving more of his ice skating dreams?

Was he thinking about. . . ?

Did he really know how old he was?

I wrote in one of my books that being old or young isn’t determined by how many years you have lived, but it is determined by how old you are when you die. If you are 20 years old and you are going to die at 80, then you are very young. But if you are 20 years old and are going to die next week, then you are very old. But we think of “old” as walkers, wheelchairs, nursing homes, and the body breaking down. Nope. “Old” is determined by when you die.

Spencer was a very old man at 16 years of age. Did he know that? My guess is he didn’t because most young people don’t think that way.

After death comes the Judgment.

Hebrews 9:27

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Life is very fleeting. Going from young to old is a very quick journey—very quick.

You will be meeting Jesus soon. Make sure you are ready for that meeting.

James 4:14

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Until the nets are full,

P.S.  We recently received this nice email from TJ. He is a bold soul-winner and loves doing missionary work. Please pray for his endeavors. Thanks for all of your support that helps us get materials to TJ and into Guyana!

Men’s Prayer Breakfast

Please pray for my upcoming speaking event during a men’s prayer breakfast at Cornerstone Bible Church in Lilburn, GA, on February 8th. It should be a great time of fellowship and teaching about the importance of reaching the lost for Christ!
