We received a request last week from a group called Love Packages. They fill up shipping containers with Christian literature and send them to English and Spanish-speaking countries across the world. Steve, who runs Love Packages, let me know that they had run out of our books and wanted to see if we could send them some more.
Whenever we reprint our books, we take a percentage off the top and send them directly to Love Packages, so they can get materials to both the lost and the saved in other countries. We only have one reprint coming up at the moment, so I had to make a decision: Should we take books off the warehouse floor and send them to Love Packages? That is a pretty expensive proposition. What would you do if you were in that situation?
We decided to send them 40 cases of our books and booklets in English and Spanish. They have spread them around Central and South America, and folks want more of them. Interestingly, they get requests for our Spanish books by name! Also, every time I get an email from Africa about one of our books, I am almost 100 percent sure they received it from Love Packages.
There are mainly three groups that we support with materials to give away: Prison Book Project; Mission Possible, Inc.; and Love Packages. I really think some of the best work our ministry does is in the prison system. I can’t wait to find out how God used all of those materials that He put into the hands of the men and women who needed them.
This is where our “thank you” comes in. To all of you folks who donate to the ministry to help us do what we do, thank you. To all of you folks who donate for the products you order, thank you. We take those funds and put them right back into printing, shipping, reaching prisoners, and some other projects. As you can guess, printing and shipping costs have not calmed down much, so your generosity helps more than you know.
Please pray that those 40 cases of books will get into the right hands and that God will use them to impact many lives. Please also pray that they will be read more than one time and get passed along to many others.
