Thanks for all of the feedback you sent about the Paper Missionaries newsletter.
Roger sent me the following email and titled the subject line, “Paper Missionaries on Steroids.”
A couple weeks ago, my wife and I went on a cruise to Alaska to celebrate the miraculous 40th birthday of my daughter, Mara. The fact that she was celebrating 40 years was indeed a miracle because almost all kids who had cystic fibrosis died from it in their teens, 20 years ago. I had received Christ as my Savior in 1985, one year after she was born, and I was so privileged to be able to start praying for her right away. I believe God answered those prayers with advances in medicine and in His healing power to protect her and give her a husband and a 13-year-old daughter now.
So, this was a wonderful celebration, where over 100 family and friends were invited. I knew this would be a great opportunity to celebrate this event and share it with many people on the cruise ship. Of course, there’s no better analogy than the Titanic, as we’re going on a cruise! And so, I found a great Titanic tract that I knew would be very useful for sharing with people. So, with 150 of those tracts, plus about 100 of Mark’s wonderful tracts, as you see below, I was ready for battle with the enemy.
I started asking people if they had seen the movie Titanic, and, of course, many had, but they never imagined they would be on a ship where that could happen. Well, I helped their imagination with that a bit and suggested that they now have the ticket for the Titanic. And, in fact, their life is the Titanic because we’re all going to die. You just don’t know when!
“I said, ‘If you had just three hours to live, what would you do and what would be most important?’ Well, I got a lot of different answers on that, but, then I said, ‘Let’s take the next step. Suppose you’re in the water, and you’re gonna drown! Fortunately, there is a lifeboat, and it’s the only one available. It says Jesus Christ on it. Would you get in it?’ That led to some very interesting discussions and got people thinking in ways they probably had not thought of before. If I had time, I would share the gospel with them or just give them the tract and encourage them to read it carefully!
“So, to top this all off, one of the final nights on the boat, I thought I’d get in the hot tub to enjoy one last moment on the boat. I saw five young people in the tub. I thought, ‘This is a great opportunity!’ But, as soon as I got in, they all left! I thought, ‘Okay, Lord, what do you have in mind?’ Hardly a minute later, twelve other young people got in the tub. There we were, shoulder to shoulder, and He gave me the platform to share the Titanic story with all who were crammed in this hot tub! They were very interested in the story and were very interested in how to make sure they could survive by trusting in Christ as their Savior. What a joy to explain the gospel in depth, then pray over them, and then give them all Paradise tracts as I got up to leave!
You never know how God is going to use you, so be ready. Have ammunition with you, and get ready to enjoy this amazing journey of sharing Jesus with the lost world!

One thing to know about Roger is that he witnesses everywhere he goes. EVERYWHERE! That is how he lives his life in the Lord. If it is a cruise he is taking, it is just another mission trip for him. Roger doesn’t do vacations; he does mission trips!

He get into the right flow of people going to a July 4th parade and handed out 300 Freedom tracts in 45 minutes! That is how quickly tracts can leave your hands.
