Temple Time

Feb 10, 2016

As you have been reading your Bible from front to back this year, did you notice that verse in Genesis 1?

Genesis 1:29

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

One of the things I like about science is that the more people study it and its scientific facts, the more they find out that the Bible is true. Science is just one more indicator that points to the inspiration of God’s Word. God is always right.

Similarly, the more that people study the subject of health, the more they find out that the Bible has also been correct all along in what it says about health, too!

The word “meat” in Genesis 1 means food, or what we should eat. God is telling us that herb-bearing seeds and the fruit of trees are for our food. They are good for us. They build up and sustain our temples.

It is interesting that the Bible tells us these things. And maybe even more interesting is that the world is finding out, one more time, that the Bible is true in what it says. They are finally catching up to God!

I watched a DVD series called The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest.

https://go2.thetruthaboutcancer.com/quest/

http://thetruthaboutcancer.com/

I was fascinated by all of the research in this documentary. It is loaded with so much insightful information about how to get rid of cancer and how to take care of our bodies.

Hemp oil; B-17 laetrile; Gerson Diet; Echo Water; Cordyceps, Reishi, and Chaga mushrooms; frankincense; myrrh; Berberine; coffee enemas; sprouts; daily cleansing tea; vibrational therapy; hyperbaric chambers; etc. are all being used to destroy cancer cells!

This docuseries is loaded! There is so much good information about how to take care of these temples that God has given us. But then it hit me: Everything it recommends is basically something that God has put on our planet. Researchers are just discovering the substances that God has made in nature that can heal our bodies of infirmities. Why is this not a surprise? Because the Scriptures talk about this!

A couple of verses in Revelation have always intrigued me:

Revelation 22:1,2

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

We know that good, clean water is something all of us need all of the time. We can’t exist or be healthy without it. That wasn’t a river of chocolate or a river of soda flowing from the throne of God! Never forget that.

But verse 2 has always grabbed my attention: If God provides healing through the fruit and leaves of Revelation 22, why wouldn’t that be true as we live our lives now?

Then someone who practices health and healing from a Christian perspective showed me another verse:

Ezekiel 47:12

And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

Did you know that many of our drugs today are plant-based? Researchers figure out what works medicinally in a plant, try to replicate that compound, and then patent it as a drug. Wouldn’t it make better sense to just ingest that substance by eating the plant in the first place?!

I have had some health problems through the years. All of us do from time to time. Some of us have them to a greater extent than others. But I guess the real question is: Will we do something about it, or will we just keep on progressing down that same path?

I was eating out one night, years ago, and someone prayed over our food for the nourishment of our bodies. Well, when I looked down at my food again, which was a footlong chili dog and french fries, I realized there was nothing in that meal that was going to nourish our bodies!! It was basically a useless prayer. But since that time, I have learned a lot more about health.

One thing nutritionists always teach is to eat real food. Walk into a grocery store. Where do your eyes go? They always head over to the bright colors of the fruits and vegetables! Why? Those colors have different vitamins in them that are good for the temple. Another thing I have learned is to eat organic food whenever I can. I am not low on pesticides. I just don’t need any extra pesticides in my system to keep my body working well! Glysophate is bad news all the way around, and I don’t need it in my temple. So when you eat organic foods, you are skipping all of the pesticides, and you are also avoiding genetically modified foods (GMOs), as well.

Another thing you learn about health is that the immune system God has put into our bodies is really out of this world! If we build it up correctly, it will fight the bad stuff that gets into our bodies. But eating incorrectly, lack of sleep, lack of exercise, lack of sunshine, etc. will all suppress the immune system. So if I build up what God has put in me, then I will be healthier during my lifetime.

On a plane flight recently, a lady and I got into a conversation about health. I’m not sure how that happened! I mentioned that I had a gallbladder issue a couple of years ago. She looked at me quickly and said, “Did you have it taken out?” I said, “No.” She responded, “Good.“ I said, “Why?” She then let me know that she had her gallbladder taken out, and she has had all of the same problems ever since! Wow. I have heard that from more than one person. One thing I’ve learned is that diet has so much to do with how our gallbladders function! I did some research, talked with a few people who deal in natural health, changed my diet, and two years later, I still have the gallbladder God gave me! The funny thing is that my doctor still wants me to have it cut out, even though I am not having any symptoms or problems at all!

One of the best things I ever did was have the mercury fillings taken out of my mouth. I had never even thought of that. A family friend had that done, and she said up and down that it has been so much better for her health. So I did some research on it, found a dentist who practices mercury-free dentistry, and had them replaced. I have had low energy issues my whole life, but since having the mercury fillings removed, my energy level is up and my brain is not as foggy as it used to be. It’s interesting that many countries are now beginning to phase out mercury fillings because of their toxicity.

So where are some good places to go and find good health information? Let me list a few for you that I have found helpful as I have done a lot of my research:

So where are some good places to go and find good health information? Let me list a few for you that I have found helpful as I have done a lot of my research:

The Bible

www.nutritionfacts.org

www.naturalnews.com

www.mercola.com

Now, three of those sites have great search engines. You can type in a certain condition, a certain drug, a certain food, etc. and find out what the current research says about it. Three of them also have really good e-newsletters that I subscribe to, so I can keep learning about how to properly take care of my temple.

The good news is that God has given us free will. We can choose to do what we want with our bodies. After an event one night, I had dinner with some college students. As we were eating at a restaurant, one young man had fried mozzarella sticks, french fries, and chicken fingers!! I haven’t seen that much fried food in a long time! So we started talking about health and our bodies. He said that he and his dad have decided they love to eat this type of food and are probably going to die at 48, but they will die happy! Well, that is a funny line, but when someone is having a heart attack, a gallbladder attack, kidney stones, or cancer, it really isn’t all that amusing. Someone said, “Act like you already have cancer, and do everything you can to eat right to destroy it.” Your body. Your health. Your choice.

Now, the other thing to remember is that we live in a fallen world. Sin and sickness are all around us and will always be around us. As I am finishing up this newsletter, I have been having these coughing fits the last two days! I haven’t had anything like this in ages. So I am fighting back by putting some good food in my body to build up my immune system. But I also realize that I will be dealing with health issues until I get to the other side.

Did you know that the United States has 5% of the world’s population, but it consumes 50% of the world’s pharmaceutical drugs? What is wrong with that picture?

Did you know that more people die from prescription drugs than they do from car accidents? Seriously. What is wrong with that picture?

Hippocrates, the ancient Greek physician, was credited with saying, “Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food.” There is some good, sound advice there. If God made whole foods, then they will always be better for us than processed foods. But sometimes, because we live in a fast-paced society, we go for what is quick instead of what is healthy.

I like Hippocrates, but what does God say?

3 John 1:2

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Healthy living is a great way to go through life!

1 Timothy 4:8

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Take care of your body and your soul. Do both. You will be glad you did.

Proverbs 17:22

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Joy, and not stress, will be so good for your health!

Revelation 21:4,7

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

I can’t wait for that new body in Heaven! Hallelujah!! But until then, I need to take care of the temple.

Be blessed, be bold, eat well, share your faith, and stand strong on the truths of God’s Word!

Until the nets are full,

P.S. I told someone before I sent out last month’s newsletter that I would get more feedback on it, either because it had a video link related to politics and/or because I was holding a gun in my hands, than feedback about people committing to reading their Bibles front to back this year. Sadly, I was more correct than you would ever guess. It is time to get serious, folks. These are very serious times we live in.

P.P.S. Someone sent this picture of their church group going through One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven, and they are putting what they learn into practice by reaching their city! Do you have a group that you are doing a book study with, and are you taking your town for Jesus Christ?
